Why do thrillers thrive

People enjoy thrillers because they can watch something dangerous but still feel the safety of the cinema. Thrillers also build up excitement for the audience, and causes them to have an emotional response to the film. The audience can also see the danger/fear rather than just reading about it, this creates realism. The thrills that the audience experience are things which they would not want to in real life, so it gives them an opportunity to experience it artificially.
